"Why do bad things happen to good people?" ..... Romans 3:23 says "for ALL have sinned and
fall short of the glory of God" .... THERE ARE NO GOOD PEOPLE. Ecclesiastes 7:20 says "Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins" ..... 1 John 1:8 says " If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us" ...... Also read Romans 3:10-18, it goes into ...detail about us. Every human being on this planet DESERVES to be thrown into hell at this very moment... (Romans 6:23)... Every second we spend alive is only by the grace and mercy of God... Even the most terrible misery we could experience on this planet is Merciful compared to what we DESERVE, which is Eternal hell in the lake of fire.... So the Real question would be, "Why does God allow good things to happen to bad people?" Romans 5:8 says "God shows his love for us in that while we were STILL sinners, Christ died for us" .... Why does good things happen to bad people? ..... Despite the evil, sinful nature of the people of this world, God still loves us. He loved us enough to die to take the penalty for our sins.... If we receive Jesus Christ as Savior (John 3:16, Romans 10:9), we will be forgiven and promised an eternal home in Heaven... What we DESERVE is hell.. What we are given is eternal life in Heaven if we come to Christ in faith .... So if you ask me "How you doing?".. I will tell you "Better than I deserve". God bless you (reader)! "Everything is permissible, but not everything is BENEFICIAL" (1 Corinthians 10:23) ... As Christians, we get caught up in legalism when we ask "CAN I do this?" as if Christianity is a list of rules... Instead we should ask "SHOULD I do this?" .... Are the things we do BENEFICIAL to our walk with Christ? ...... The Lord is not concerned with our outward duties, He's examining our HEART.... Matthew 5:28 say If a man just LOOKS at a woman with lustful intent he has already committed adultery with her in his HEART ..... It's about the HEART!
People argue that Smoking Weed isn't a Sin because it's not in the Bible.. But God doesn't examine what we DO, He's looking at our HEARTS (1 Samuel 16:7) .... If we have to ask "Is Smoking Weed a Sin?", then we're missing the entire purpose of Christianity - dumbing it down to a list of rules ...... If we have to ask "Are tattoos a Sin?", we're caught up in legalism... We want a list of Do's and Don'ts, but Christianity goes BEYOND that! ...... Colossians 3:5 says to Mortify "Uncleanness".. Uncleanness means 'impure thoughts or motives'... WHYY do we smoke weed? WHYY are we getting tattoos? ... If Jesus was standing right next to me, would He be pleased with what I am doing? ...... 1 Corinthians 16:9 says "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own". Christianity is not about what we can get away with and still be considered a "Christian" ... Matthew 5:8 says "Blessed are the PURE IN HEART: for they shall see God" ....... So let's examine ourselves and do everything with an intent to please God, amen? ..... 1 Corinthians 10:31 says "...whatever you do, do all to the glory of God". God bless you (reader), stay encouraged |
