For those who don't understand my previous post: satan used to be an angel. In Ezekiel 28:12-19, God speaks of satan, saying "...You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering.... You were an anointed guardian cherub [angel]. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.
The 'unrighteousness' found in satan was that HE WAS TRYING TO DETHRONE GOD! Isaiah 14:12-17 speaks of satan, saying "How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High [God].’ But you are brought down to Sheol [Hell], to the far reaches of the pit. Because satan was full of beauty and wisdom, he began to think more highly of himself than he ought. He allowed his 'gifts' to cause him to get the big-head, and felt HE deserved the praise that belonged to God. There's a lesson to be learned from satan's mistake. "Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16:18) Whether we're gifted to sing, rap, dance, preach, prophesy, paint, sculpt, write, play sports, sew, style hair, etc., we must remember that the gift came from GOD, and not ourselves! 2 Corinthians 10:17 says, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord." Stay humble folks! God bless... 2 of the greatest lies satan tells us is that... [1] We're the only one facing a certain problem. No one sees, understands or cares... And [2] We cannot be free from our current situation, bondage, pain, hurt or guilt.
The truth is that the very reason Jesus was even born was to set us free! Isaiah 61:1-3 declares that His very purpose is to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound, to comfort all who mourn, to trade us beauty for our ashes, to trade us joy for our sorrow, and trade us the garment of praise for our heaviness. The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost!!!! (Luke 19:10) If we can admit that we need His help, we qualify as perfect candidates to experience His unfailing love. Hebrews 4:15-16 says... "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one [Jesus] who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Jesus knows exactly what we're going through, which is why we're urged to lean on Him for help and strength. Another lie satan tells us is that God is out to 'get us'; ready to punish us for our mistakes. But John 3:16-17 says... "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." So we indeed have Someone who understands us enough and loves us enough, and all we have to do is cast our cares upon Him, because He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7) ..... Are you ready to be free? |
